The American Silver Eagle series began in 1986, featuring one-ounce silver coins backed by the U.S. government.
Mintage: 438,511 – making it more common than the ultra-rare 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle but still desirable.
Obverse (Front): Features Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty design, originally used on the 1916–1947 Half Dollar.
Reverse (Back): Displays John Mercanti’s heraldic bald eagle with a shield, carrying arrows and an olive branch.
Frosted or Cameo Variations – Some coins have stronger cameo contrast, making them more appealing.
The 1995-P Proof is widely collected but overshadowed by the ultra-rare 1995-W Proof (which had a mintage of just 30,125).
Proof coins have a mirror-like finish and frosted details, while bullion versions have a standard matte finish and no mintmark.
The 1995-P Proof Silver Eagle is a must-have for serious collectors of the series. While not as rare as the 1995-W, it holds significant historical and numismatic value, especially in high grades.
